I had the opportunity to meet Tekela Redd during some of my earliest moments in business. When people ask me about her, I always try to describe that moment as vividly as possible. Our business relationship began with a meeting about photographing her book, Real Estate Players' Cheat Code.

Having the responsibility of capturing businesses like The Ground Floor and once-in-a-lifetime events like weddings, I was no stranger to delivering under pressure. But this was different—new territory for me. Still, I felt ready.

Tekela shared her vision, and as she spoke, I grew both nervous and excited to bring it to life. I remember telling her about my business, thanking her for the opportunity, and mentioning that it had only just started a few months earlier. I said something like, “I wish I had started this business sooner.” Without hesitation, Tekela took control of the conversation and said:

"No. You were supposed to start this business when you started it. There is a plan for you."

Her certainty caught me off guard, but those words stuck with me. After working with Tekela on multiple projects—from photographing her book to Halloween shoots, working with her sorority and capturing her new business ventures—I’ve come to understand why she said what she did.

Her words that day, along with the confidence she had in me, helped shape my business early on. Tekela is certain in what she does and in the people she invests in. She is a huge inspiration and one of the most beloved individuals I’ve met on this journey.

Most importantly, she has taught me that no dream is too big. You dream it, and then you live it... even if it involves a drone and Clydesdale horse!
