MARTINSVILLE MONDAYS:

Located 1914 Virginia Ave in Martinsville
I first came across the name Black Sheep Retro and was instantly intrigued by its unique appeal. Meeting Shannon in person truly became one of the highlights of my week. She embodies the incredible spirit of our community, and it’s clear that we are fortunate to have such passionate and inspiring individuals like her right here in Martinsville.
In 2024, Shannon Huffman opened Black Sheep Retro, a unique clothing and gift boutique in Martinsville, Virginia, with the mission to offer a wide variety of products for women, men, and children. From stylish clothing and shoes to jewelry, purses, photo frames, and candles, Black Sheep Retro brings together fashion and function for every member of the family.
One of Shannon’s proudest moments as a business owner has been her collaboration with the VA Harm Reduction Coalition (VHRC) and The Warming Center. Through this partnership, Black Sheep Retro has been able to provide clothing to those in need and even support fundraising efforts for the Warming Center. “Everyone deserves clean clothes that match their energy & style without worrying about a hefty price tag,” Shannon says, emphasizing her commitment to both the community and affordability.

Black Sheep Retro continues to grow and engage with the Martinsville community. The boutique is excited to announce their upcoming Spring Fling event on March 22nd, featuring music, food, and local vendors. In addition, Black Sheep Retro has launched their spring and summer line, offering fresh, seasonal styles for all ages. The boutique regularly participates in community events to connect with customers and showcase their latest offerings.
When asked about the legacy she hopes to create, Shannon expresses a desire for Black Sheep Retro to be more than just a store. “I hope Black Sheep Retro is a place that you can come and shop without being scared to look at the price tag. But I also hope we are able to encourage others to reach out a helping hand. We all need each other.”
Black Sheep Retro is not only about style; it’s about building a community, offering affordable options, and giving back to those in need.
